The main catch is that it is located close to run-down areas to its south and west, but those effects can be mitigated through street smarts and overall it is in a decent location.
response from property -Thank you for taking the time to rate our community! We are glad to know you're enjoying your experience and look forward to your continued residency!

I lived in Pratt and its such a nice sized apartment for one person. Maintenance was speedy and Heather and Brittany were very helpful in my application move in process and move out process. I left early for space reasons after my partner and I decided to move in together. If there were larger two bedroom apartments, we for sure would have stayed.
response from property -Thank you for taking the time to rate our community! We are glad to know how much you loved living at 500 Park Avenue and appreciate your kind words for our team. We wish you luck!

Vernon is a safe and vibrant neighborhood. Less than 10 minute drive to many hospitals. The amenities are very nice, and the space is clean and modern. Management is receptive and open. Maintenance team is great and all my service requests have been done the next day. I would recommend living her to any of my close friends.

The area is revitalizing with lots to do, however you need to know the area you’re in and just be aware of your surroundings. Different blocks aren’t safe. The concierge Nikki is amazing, she’s attentive, a great listener and friendly. It’s easy to get around via public transportation, light rail, walking etc. The windows are insulated and keep the noise out for the most part. Cons The gym is way too small, and residents of 520 park can have access to our pool but we can’t have access to their huge state of the art gym. Unfair. Parking lot 110 and garage 160 pricing is way too expensive on top of the high rent, pet rent etc. I’ve been to plenty of luxury apartments downtown and even in VA and their parking is no more than 75-100 a month. Speaking of pet fee, this is the only property in 10 years of me renting that charges me a pet rent for my bunny, who stays in a cage. Josh who leased my apartment did not follow through with the resident referral special paperwork for my friend who referred me to live her. La’Asia, another leasing specialist had to complete it and it’s been 2 months and my friend hasn’t received it yet. You can hear the water going through the pipes in your apartment and a clicking sound from the heat. You can hear when neighbors close their door because it slams. Trash chute is too small and full. It’s always stuck because residents don’t push their trash in. I’ve been to other properties that have automatic motion sensor trash chute which is much more hygienic and nice. With the price I’m paying I would expect that. Overall, I expect more for what I’m paying and how luxurious they claim to be. It’s clear it’s all about money and exploiting their residents. However I can’t complain too much, it’s quiet, newer and nicer than anywhere else I lived.

submitted by Lindsey L. - |Recommended: YesComfort and Convenience — I find the management company to be very friendly and responsive. I love our apartment space, it's cozy and has excellent light. Definitely seeing the perks of living in a new building. I think our heat came on twice this winter but it's been consistently 65-70 degrees in our corner apartment. When we moved in we requested screens be added to our windows since we have cats. They were super fast in responding even though they had to order screens to fit. The location is great and I walk to work. The area isn't very loud for being in the city, the occasional siren or car honking at night. The apartments themselves are pretty quiet, I can't hear my neighbors talking, like ever, just the people above us if they drop something heavy or the cabinets of the people next to us. I don't recommend having an apartment on the Park Ave side of the building if you work nights or need to sleep past 8AM because there is a school across the street and the kids can be loud on their way in in the morning but it doesn't bother me since I work regular hours. We are very happy to have a parking spot in the garage under the building, parking is a big issue in Mt. Vernon so it's nice to not worry about where to park. There is no guest parking but that hasn't been a problem yet. Lots of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops within walking distance. There is a big revitalization effort going on in the neighborhood south and west of the building so I'm looking forward to the other business and restaurants that are sure to be opening up nearby. The fire alarm went off a couple times this winter because of people idling their cars in the garage, it wasn't in the middle of the night or anything so not too traumatizing. I use the gym pretty often, it's not the largest gym but it has the basics plus free wifi and I'm looking forward to using the pool this summer. We are very happy here, especially now that the sign outside has come down it flapped around and was my only annoyance living here .
response from property -Thank you Lindsey! We appreciate this awesome review!
